UCLA DOWNTOWN

The UCLA Pritzker Center was selected as one of the inaugural programs to occupy the new UCLA Downtown campus—a vibrant, collaborative hub where research, education, and community come together in the heart of Los Angeles.

This Summer, we celebrated one year in DTLA!

As part of this exciting expansion, we are honored to partner with the UCLA School of Education & Information Studies, the Semel Institute for Neuroscience & Human Behavior, and the Luskin School of Public Affairs to bridge UCLA’s campus with the community in Los Angeles. We join 31 other programs addressing topics such as climate change and environmental justice, education for incarcerated individuals, labor and employment, housing and homelessness, immigration, public health, voting rights, LGBTQ+ issues, criminal justice reform, along with a robust slate of community-focused arts and cultural projects.

Being in downtown LA provides UCLA Pritzker Center faculty, staff and students with enhanced opportunities to connect with local government, schools, and community partners. Since opening our doors, this space has become a catalyst for meaningful community collaboration and impact:
  • Welcomed 30+ funders and child welfare experts—sparking new conversations and collaborative partnerships.
  • Provided space to the 21st Century California School Leadership Academy—giving teachers and school principals from across California a supportive learning environment.
  • Convened the Children’s Law Center of California–creating space for leadership development and discussion around child welfare.
  • Forged new research relationships with UCLA DTLA colleagues to map the Eaton Fire’s impact on children in foster care–deepening multidisciplinary relationships.
  • Hired a Policy and Community Impact Director to strategically expand our impact across government affairs and our communities–making UCLA DTLA our home base for these efforts!
UCLA DTLA has transformed how we connect, collaborate, and create change.
We look forward to welcoming more partners to the space and into this next chapter of deepening UCLA’s engagement with Los Angeles.
